Alabango smoothie

Kamusta? Here's a smoothie recipe that uses Indian mangoes. I call the recipe Alabango (pronounced Alabang-go) smoothie because the mangoes are sourced from Alabang, Muntinlupa. Their variety is called Indian mango though. These mangoes are soo good, our dog Vaughn (rest in pup-peace) and some of our other pets love to eat them.

These mangoes are green but a few of them are ripe. The texture and smell will clue you in as to their ripeness.

Ingredients:

2 ripe Indian mangoes (I know non-Pinoys will find it weird that I included the word ripe, but it's a must because lots of Pinoy looooove unripe Indian mangoes)

1 papaya

2 bananas

the juice of 3 calamansi

1 coconut (juice and white flesh)

1 sprig basil

a few edible flowers for garnish

Instructions:

1. Blend in a high speed blender.

2. Pout into glasses and garnish with edible flowers
